Elva Chandler was a businesswoman of Wilmington and Mt. Cuba, Delaware. She worked in the Pigments Dept. of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company during the 1940s and 1950s and at the Delaware Trust Company from 1959 to 1969. She also owned and operated Hartmann's Store, a general store in Mt. Cuba, north of Wilmington. In 1957 she operated a card and gift shop in Wilmington called "The Charm."
